Nigeria's Very Own: Cinderella

This week,ll be featuring a list of interesting FEMALE, Nigerian, personalities, celebrities and randoms, seeing that all those terms are very subjective, i.e one man's celebrity is another man's random (lol) one thing they will all have in common is the fact that they are Nigerian and Female.... they will be all be listed under my lsn trademark (.) " Nigeria's Very Own"

The very first of them will be our very own Cinderella : OLUCHI

" I never thought I would be on a plane, I had no idea I would leave my mum, leave Lagos"- Oluchi on winning that competition and leaving Lagos

Oluchi has come along way, since 1998, when she was encouraged by a relative to enter into the Face of Africa competition, previously she was a student and also part time bread seller on the streets of Lagos. Oluchi went on to win that competition and become THE most successful Nigerian model and also one of the most successful Black models.

Oluchi has been on the cover of Italian Vogue, I-D, Elle, Untold, Surface and True love. She has also been the face of Gap, Victoria's Secret, Gianfrancco Ferre, Express, and Cover Girl

I do think she deserves extra recognition because she has stayed true to her Nigerian roots, taking time to support Nigerian designers and those who are close to her comment on how grounded she has remained in spite of her success.

Genesis

Having debated this for a while I decided to just go right ahead. So if you happen to have stumbled on my little space on the web ekabo.. welcome.. u get the picture. I am hoping this will be a very exciting blog covering my many interests , love, style, art, culture , fashion, travel, and all thing's in between. Having been inspired my many bloggers, I guess i still felt that something was missing. I hope this will become a place where we can all chat, disuss and argue and that I too will learn something in the process.

Please note that is blog will have Nigerian and Non Nigerian content.

This is just the beginning , the rest is still unwritten ----- (literally)!

Lots of Love.
